Over the past few years, we have fired up the Posterior Chain before Deadlifts, we have cued the Hip Rotators before Single-Leg Exercises. Now, we take a pretty basic therapeutic exercise, the Terminal Knee Extension, and we apply it to Leg Day!
Of the four muscles that comprise your QUADriceps, your VMO (that teardrop-shaped muscle on the inner aspect of your thigh), plays an important role in helping you achieve full knee extension, and it provides the appropriate medial tug to keep your patella in good alignment. This means, for all of you heavy squat guys and girls that have been looking for a balance between your medial and lateral quad development, you have a chance to tap into your potential!
Knock out 2 sets of 10 of these heavy-heavy Terminal Knee Extensions (holding each for 5 seconds) before your next Leg Day and realize all those Gains!
